Christina Ferreira

With profound sadness, we announce the passing on October 6, 2020, of Christina Maria Mendonca Ferreira, age 59, a loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She was born in Hanford, CA, on July 2, 1961, a daughter to Manuel and Maria Mendonca. Christina graduated from Chino High School in 1979 and began her career working for the Chino Valley Unified School District, where she devoted 37 years of service before finally retiring in 2016. On November 26, 1983, she married John Ferreira in Chino, CA, and together lived a life full of pure bliss and happiness.
Throughout her years of life, Christina had an eye for the finer things in life and always ensured that she lived life to the fullest. Her passion for travel led her on several adventures, from camping, cruising down the Caribbean Seas, to climbing the Great Wall of China. She was always ready to go with her bags packed in one hand and the keys in the other. Christina was a trustworthy warm-hearted individual who brought the best out of everyone, making anyone feel as though they had known her their entire life. She also enjoyed entertainment, frequently attending concerts, and Traditional Portuguese Festivals. Christina’s love for both life and those within it never went unknown; she truly carried out the life motto that life is too short to be anything but happy.
Christina is survived by her husband of 36 years, John Ferreira; children, Tanya Washington; Jonathan Anthony Ferreira; son-in-law, Verdis Washington; siblings, Albert and Susie Mendonca; Parents-in-law, Gil & Jassalina Ferreira; sisters-in-law, Adelina Ferreira & Elizabeth Cendejas; and nieces Analia Mendonca, Brittany & Isabella Cendejas, Jessica Vigil, and Michelle Ferreira. She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Maria Mendonca; and son, Jonathan Frank Ferreira. Christina will genuinely be missed by all those she encountered in her life and will always be cherished and loved in the memories she leaves behind.
