Emmanuel Calderon

August 30, 1982 — December 16, 2021

Emmanuel Alfonso Calderon was born to Rudy and Dolores Calderon on August 30, 1982 in La Mirada, CA. He grew up in the Covina area with his parents and siblings; Valerie, Regina and Rudy. The youngest of the four, Manny was always looked after with a watchful eye, as the baby always is. He graduated from Norwalk High School; home of the Lancers.
Manny adored his children Kayla, Arianna, Julian, Ethan and Jacob. If asked, he would tell you they were the loves of his life. Upon sheer observance, it was very apparent this was true. Manny worked tirelessly for his little family with one goal in mind: to provide their every need. He worked for Macy’s for over 14 years. It was there, that he worked his way to become a Logistics Supervisor.
Manny had lots of interests that always included the ones he loved. Video games were a favorite pastime for Manny. He and his kids bonded over a good game of Minecraft. After a long day at work, Manny enjoyed cooking hot meals for his kids. He was quite the chef with a lot of talent in the kitchen; a skill his dad cultivated in him. Manny liked many genres of music but he was a huge Social D fan. Manny liked hanging out with his brother Rudy because that meant good food, a couple of laughs, loud music or maybe a new tattoo.
Manny had a tender heart for his family. He was sincere in his efforts to give his kids a father who loved them unconditionally. He would often seek good advice and guidance from his sister Val, who was like a second mother to him. It was with her that Manny could be his most vulnerable. Their conversations would go on forever and always end with Manny feeling reassured, redirected or better about anything he was unsure of.
Manny had a special bond with his brother-in-law Erick. The two met and became brothers in 1988 when their lives merged. It was Erick that Manny looked up to and confided in. Erick poured into Manny’s life and showed him how to be a loving daddy to his five children.
On December 16, 2021, at the young age of 39 years, Manny passed away in West Covina with his sister at his side. As Christian’s we know that “to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord”, so we are assured we will see Manny again but he is deeply missed.
Manny is lovingly survived by his children Kayla, Arianna, Julian, Ethan and Jacob Calderon; father Rudy Calderon Sr; siblings Valerie Valenciano, Rudy Calderon Jr and Erick Valenciano; and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Dolores Calderon and sister Regina Calderon.
