Robert A. Ralph, 84 years old of Pomona, California, passed away on August 22, 2018 in Fontana, California. He was born to Albert and Dorothy Ralph on April 28, 1934 in Staten Island, New York and lived in Pomona for 40 years.
As a young man, Bob proudly served his country as an Airman Second Class in the United States Air Force. His more passive side of his personality was content when he was gardening. Bob enjoyed preparing his vegetables for potluck gatherings with friends. He had a great appreciation for nature and often made time for hiking or camping with good buddies.
Spending an afternoon at the car races was a favorite pass time for Bob. When he wasn’t at the races Bob loved to ride. He took many rides to the beach or along a scenic mountain trail. Bob made a yearly tradition of taking a friend to the Pomona County Fair. Being an avid reader, Bob always took time out with a good book. Most especially, Bob loved his family and took cross country trips to see his wonderful sisters and family. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for the free spirit he was.
Bob is survived by three loving sisters; Dorothy Randolph of Florida, Diane Hetherington of Maryland, and Lois Fontana of New Jersey as well as many nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister June.
A shelter service will be 12:45 pm, Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Riverside National Cemetery; 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518. Following the shelter service, Robert will be laid to rest with his fellow brothers and sisters of the armed forces.
